Subscription Fever

I am currently subscribed to Ipsy and Birchbox. Birchbox was an exciting gift for my birthday. That subscription is about over and I’m not sure what to do. But in my love of all things subscription I passed this love on to my man! For Father’s Day me the kid and the pup got him a subscription to the men’s birch box and I have passed along the fever. He gets exciting waiting for his box to arrive and can’t wait to open it when it does!

Here is his latest birch box!

Yes there is a virtual reality thing in there. It made me dizzy but was really cool! The quirky plug was an amazing gift in the box and was just about the price of the box so in my mind worth it!!!

He tried the Hanz De Fuko shampoo and really fell in love with sulphate free shampoo. This particular brand might be too pricey for a regular all the time buy but he’s searching for other options.

And now for my box!

This was the special box by Nicole Richie this month and I’m very excited about the contents.

In particular I’m excited about the OPI Polish this is from the new Venice Collection

Next I’m excited about this lip and cheek gloss. It seems like a good color for me and it’s a new brand for me so I’m excited to try it.

And last is one I’m excited but nervous about all at the same time! Dr. Brandt microdermabrasion. So I’m super excited to use it and check it out. I’m getting older and need to make sure I’m taking good care of my skin. But with a full size cost of $78 I’m kinda hoping I don’t fall in love with it! We shall see!

And lastly a gluten update/tip. Living a gluten free life is going to be necessary for me. I just end up miserable. So we are committing whole heartedly as a family to ME going gluten free. The boys have revolted. I made them gluten free pancakes and you would have thought I beat up the tooth fairy. There was much disappointed and frustration at the breakfast table. Real maple syrup was the only savior of breakfast well that and my amazing cheesy eggs! But let’s just say we are working on gluten free living. So for lunch on Sunday it was decided that we would be going to Firehouse Subs. Now if you haven’t been you should go. If you avoid gluten you should go anyway. They have a sandwich we just call it the Kings Hawaiian and we know what it is. It is an amazing pulled pork bbq sandwich with coleslaw and a giant Kings Hawaiian bun! If you eat meat you want to eat this! If you don’t settle for the slaw. It’s amazing!
Well this girl can’t have the bread. Sadly it is all gluten filled and what not. So I asked if they could put it on a salad for me and they did! They didn’t give me a problem. Just said of course and figured out how to put it in the register! Here’s how it turned out!

It may look a little funny but I’m telling you once I mixed it all up in the salad it was amazing!!!! So yummy and I was able to enjoy a meal out with the family and not be sick after which is always a good thing. Oh and those limon chips were the bomb!!!

What’s your favorite sandwich?

Ps I’m going to start trying to get more recipes on here and I was wondering if there was anything you might want to see food-wise. Please let me know!

  1. I feel like subscription boxes are all the rage now! Am I missing out? And I had a feeling gluten free would be your solution… As sad as it may seem to let it go. I know it would be such an adjustment. You got this though!!

    1. You are definitely missing out. I tried one subscription box that was just ok. That was Bulu. It was snacks and different weight loss stuff and it just wasn’t for me. But man oh man subscriptions are so fun! They even have them for your pets! Lol! And thanks it’s going to be tough but we are making the most of it. We found some gluten free pasta we are going to try this week sometime! I’m excited to do a post on that!
